WHS Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thurs., Oct. 14th. We will be hosting these primarily through phone/email to keep our numbers in the building down. That being said, if needed, parents can schedule a face to face conference with their child's teacher if needed.
Over the coming days, teachers will begin to email parents with a Google Form with information about how you would like to have contact with the teacher. Parents, please check your email that you have on file in eSchool. If you do not see it in your inbox, check your spam folder.

ATTENTION PARENTS OF ALL BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS GRADES 7-12: Warrior Assist Club will have a mandatory meeting for parents on 9/29/21 at 5:30 in the high school gym. Many items will be discussed in a short amount of time. The meeting should only last approximately 30 minutes. - Coach Whitmire

Today during Tribe Time, using our Capturing Kids’ Hearts theme of Empathy, our students wrote letters of encouragement to our “Health Care Heroes.” These letters will be dispersed to them soon. There were many great letters written that will be appreciated by those who receive them.

Seniors,
Remember that we will have composite pictures being taken again on Monday, September 13. This is for any senior who did not take their composite picture on the first day.

Westside High School participated in a ceremony on Friday to recognize the 20th Anniversary of the 9-11 attacks.
Air Force JROTC cadets placed a wreath and pictures at the flagpole to honor the three victims from Arkansas, and lowered the flags to half-staff, as the Westside Warrior Band played "God Bless America" and Cadet Allison Patsey played Taps.

WHS students have been working through Capturing Kids' Hearts Leadworthy Character Lessons each week during Tribe Time. This month, we have been talking about "Empathy." Please see the family newsletter that is attached so your family can continue these conversations at home.

Westside Schools will be closed Monday, September 6, 2021 in observance of Labor Day. School will resume on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

New information for Sr. Composite pictures. Please see the image attached for the new information.

As part of the Capturing Kids' Hearts process that WHS has immersed ourselves in this school year, our students are using Tribe Time each Wednesday to discuss traits and scenarios that are used everyday in their lives. This months focus is on EMPATHY. Empathy is understanding and feeling what others are experiencing. Teachers and students are using the 30 minutes of Tribe Time as a bonding experience with each other and most importantly...having FUN while doing it!
WHS Parents, I challenge you to take the opportunity to speak with your student about what they are learning and how they can promote empathy to those around them in their daily lives.
Mr. George

Celebrating our State Championship Trap team tonight at the board meeting. Coach Tolbert’s team has won the last two State competitions that have taken place. Great job guys!

Reminder: WHS chromebook distribution is going on today until 7 pm in the high school library.

Each teacher has information available by using the following link. If you have questions about a particular class, please send that teacher an email using the email addresses provided.

WHS teachers and staff had a great day 1 of Capturing Kids' Hearts professional development. Day 2 is underway and going great. We are starting a process that will help us to better serve our students' social/emotional needs. We cannot wait to involve our students in this process when they return to our campus next week.
Direct quote from our trainer this morning: "I have never been involved in training a group that is so family oriented as this one!"
