It’s tournament time at Westside! 🏀 The Lady Warrior Basketball Team is hosting the Cavenaugh Classic!

We invite our students and community to join us throughout the tournament as we welcome participating teams and showcase the hard work and talent of our Lady Warriors. The tournament starts today through Saturday!

Admission: $5 adults • $3 students
Come support our girls, enjoy great basketball, and bring the Warrior energy! 🙌🙌❤️🤍

Please join WHS in celebrating the outstanding performance of Westside FFA LDE competitors at the Craighead/Mississippi Sub-Area LDE Contest held on Tuesday. Our students represented Westside with pride, and we are thrilled to share that we have competitors advancing to district in every single event we entered! The WHS Volleyball Team was recognized at tonight’s school board meeting for an incredible season! The Lady Warriors earned Conference Champions, Region Champions, and finished as the 4A State Runner-Up. We are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and the way they represented Westside all season! ❤️🤍

WHS AP Chemistry students put their spectrophotometry skills to the test today! They measured how much light is absorbed by the blue dye in sports drinks and compared Blue Powerade vs. Blue Gatorade. Science + real-world curiosity = a great lab day!

A group of our WHS students and their parents attended the 4th Annual Transition Job Fair hosted by Project CARE. The goal of this event is to connect students and families with potential employers and community agencies to help them prepare for meaningful post-graduation opportunities.

Students had the chance to:

*Participate in mock interviews with local businesses
*Learn tips for building a strong résumé
*Visit with a wide variety of vendors
*Explore future career pathways

Such a great experience for our students as they begin planning their next steps! ❤️🤍

October Bus Driver of the Month: Mr. Ronnie Layne ❤️🤍

Mr. Ronnie has been a blessing to our transportation department over the last year and a half. He is always willing to go the extra mile—driving field trips, vo-tech, and faithfully running his daily bus route. Mr. Ronnie loves his kids and takes his job as a bus driver seriously. He always has a smile on his face, and safety is extremely important to him. Thank you for all you do and for getting our kids home safely each day.

WHS students had an exciting visitor experience in our AP Biology class on Friday, 11/14!

Dr. Barymon from A-State’s Health Studies Department spent the day with our AP Bio students. They had the opportunity to practice using a sonography device to locate fetal structures inside a pregnancy mannequin, and Dr. Barymon shared the many pathways and career options available through A-State’s Health Studies programs.
