October is National Principals Month and Westside Schools would like to recognize and honor our principals and assistant principals for their leadership, dedication, and impact on our schools and community.

This morning, our senior volleyball team visited Westside Elementary to help with car drop-off and join the morning meeting. The elementary students were thrilled to see and learn from our high school athletes!
Senior Maddyx Cureton spoke to the students about the importance of hard work and commitment in building a winning team.

On Saturday, October 25th, the Westside Warrior Marching Band attended the 43rd annual Paragould McDonald's Marching Invitational. They had an amazing performance and received the following awards:

1st place in class
4th place visual in the Red Division

The band also placed in the top 12 out of 23 bands!

The WHS Soccer Team will be hosting tryouts Monday October 27th and Tuesday October 28th from 5pm-6:30pm. Tryouts will be held at the Westside High School Football Field for 9th-12th grade students. Please dress appropriately with cleats and warm attire.

September Bus Driver of the Month recognized by First Community Bank: Sam Ishmael
Sam always has a smile on her face and goes above and beyond every day. She is a dedicated bus driver who truly cares about her students and their safety. This recognition is very well deserved — congratulations, Sam!

Congratulations to WHS Senior Raine Bedini! She won a $100 Visa gift card after participating in today’s Impaired and Distracted Driving presentation hosted by the Craighead County Sheriff’s Department. Raine’s name was randomly selected from among the seniors who attended the event.

WHS seniors participated in an important presentation this morning from the Craighead County Sheriff’s Department focused on the dangers and consequences of impaired and distracted driving.

Deputies shared valuable information and real-life examples to help students make safe and responsible choices behind the wheel.

We appreciate the @Craighead County Sheriff’s Department for taking the time to partner with us and support our students.

As we wrap up this week, we want to thank our 22 dedicated bus drivers, our students for practicing safe habits, and our families for supporting bus safety every day.

Day 4 – National School Bus Safety Week

Today we’re celebrating the amazing men and women who keep our students safe every single day — our Westside bus drivers! ❤️🤍

It takes 22 dedicated route drivers to get our students to and from school safely each day, no matter the weather. They greet our students with a smile, keep safety a top priority, and help make every stop a safe one.

We appreciate each of you for your hard work, patience, and care for our kids.

Warrior Volleyball will play at 4pm next Tuesday against the winner of Huntsville vs Mena! The State Tournament is being hosted at Wynne High School.

Congratulations to the Westside Warrior Marching Band! The band earned an Excellent Rating at the Region Marching Assessment and has qualified for the State Marching Contest! 👏

They’ll perform their 2025 show, “The Giver of Life,” at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock on Monday, November 3rd at 12:00 PM.

The WHS Volleyball Team will compete in the Regional Finals today at Brookland High School playing against the Brookland Bearcats at 4:00 PM! Let’s pack the gym and support our Lady Warriors! ❤️🤍💪

All students who normally ride Bus 77 or Bus 90 will ride Bus 90 and will be picked up during the second line-up at the school.

Please note that Bus 90 students will arrive approximately 10 minutes later than their normal drop-off time.
