
Another great showing for the Warrior Marching Band yesterday at the A-State Open!




The 8th Annual Red & White Boys Basketball Games, BBQ Dinner and Auction will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 starting at 5:30 p.m. in the WHS Gym & Cafeteria.


Westside High School Air Force JROTC hosted 13 other JROTC programs from Arkansas and Missouri for the Sixth Annual PT Warrior Challenge on Saturday.
Cadets completed in push-ups, sit-ups, a 1.25 mile run, a Combat Relay, and the Obstacle Course.
Westside Warrior Cadets finished 2nd in the event.

Funny Little Thing Called Love will be performed by the WHS Theatre students and directed by Rita Johnson , November 11, 12, and 13th. The show begins @ 7:00 PM each evening in the WHS Fine Arts Center. Ticket prices are $3.00 for Students, $5.00 for Adults and can be purchased at the door the evening of the performances. Social distancing will be followed by the audience and masks will be worn by the crew backstage. The cast will not be masked for the performances.
The story line is about the 4 letter word :L-O-V-E and takes place under a full moon on the same evening in various locations around the world; From Florida to Dallas, to Hawaii to a roof top in London, cupid’s love arrow just can’t be ignored. This deliriously funny comedy by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten is a show you don’t want to miss.


Thank you to Mrs. Little and Mr. Carter from Out if the Dark Inc. For talking with our high school students about bullying and the dangers of vaping and opioid use. This was done in conjunction with Red Ribbon Week.

The Westside High School Scholar Academy will begin on Monday, November 1st. This will take place Monday through Thursday each week from 3:30-4:30 pm. See the attached flyer for information about daily focus areas.


Westside Warrior Marching Band has had a very successful year so far and they aren’t done yet. Two contests to go! YAY BAND!


Congratulations to Avah Davis for making the J.H. All-Region Choir! Avah will participate in the clinic Friday, Nov. 5 at ASU Fowler Center. The All-Region concert will be 3:00 in Riceland Hall. Great job!

Westside High School is planning to start our Scholar Academy program after school beginning Monday, November 1st. This will be an opportunity for students to receive enrichment and catch up opportunities for 1 hour after school on Monday through Thursday each week. DESE Announces Computer Science Grant Recipients
The Arkansas Department of Education Office of Computer Science recently announced the winners of the Innovation in Computer Science School Grant Program. See COM-22-060 for a list of the 16 schools that were selected based on proposals outlining efforts to expand their computer science program and implement innovative best practices.
Westside High School was one of the 16 recipients. We have already been using this grant to help fund our Summer computer science camp and our 4 CyberPatriot teams.

WHS Homecoming activity day at WHS today. The Homecoming Court presentation is scheduled to begin at 6:30pm with the game with Cave City beginning around 7:00pm. If the weather alters any plans for the Homecoming Court presentation, we will announce those plans at the time it is decided.





There will be No School on Friday, October 15, 2021 for Teacher Professional Development Make-up. School will resume on Monday, October 18, 2021.

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held Thursday, October 14th from 3:30-8:30 p.m. Please contact your teacher via email to schedule your students' conference. The teacher email addresses can be found at westsideschools.org under the staff pages.

Financial aid representatives will be at Westside High School during Parent/Teacher conference from 4:30 to 7 to help Sr. parents and students fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid). This form is for many scholarships, grants and loans for students going to colleges, universities or trade schools. This years FAFSA will go by your 2020 taxes so bring that information along with you.
