Tuesday night, several WHS students attended a red carpet movie premier event held on the campus of the University of Arkansas - Pulaski Tech in Little Rock to watch the movies created during film camp. These students attended a film camp last April hosted by Joey Travolta. Students worked along side many Hollywood film makers including Barry Pearl, who played Doody in Grease & Bill Dion who helped produce The Mandalorian. During camp, teams of students wrote, starred in and filmed their very own short film and commercial with other students from around the state learning skills like communication, collaboration and team work. WHS student Riley Brandon has officially kicked off Mr. Miller’s “depression era” presentations! Riley made a vinegar pie to share with the class. This was a depression era delicacy because it included simple, inexpensive ingredients. This is one of my favorite days to drop in Mr. Miller’s class each year!!! I cannot wait to see what our other students make this week.
