The WHS Baseball Team will be hosting a chili supper tonight, February 8th, from 5-7pm in the HS Cafeteria. Chili Supper tickets will be sold at the door for $10. Come out and support our Warriors with a bowl of chili and a basketball game against the Valley View Blazers. (Game admission is not included in supper ticket)

February is "Kindness Month" for our Capturing Kids' Hearts process at WHS. Students will be doing character lessons in their Tribe periods over this month revolving around Kindness. Please see the CKH Family Newsletter for February and the 28 Day Kindness Challenge. These documents are family resources that can be used at home to promote our word of the month!

Last Wednesday, the WHS Bowling teams competed in the district bowling tournament in Cabot. The girls came in 10th place. Madison Scott got All-Conference and Sydney Pickering got Alternate! The boys won 1st place and Hunter Montgomery, Beau Malone, Mason Burris and Chase Schaffhauser got All-Conference! The boys will be competing in the state tournament at Hijinx on Wednesday, February 9th.

During Parent/Teacher conferences on Thursday evening, representatives from the financial aid department at ASU-Newport will be at the high school to help students and parent fill out the FAFSA form from 5 to 7 in Mrs. Edlemon’s classroom.
This form is very important for many scholarships as well as the Arkansas Challenge (the Lottery scholarship). Please bring your 2020 taxes for questions regarding finances to determine aid.
Financial aid: any monies used toward education, no matter financial need.
WHS Boys Basketball update: Due to official unavailability on Wednesday, the Sr Boys will play Southside on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 4pm.
WHS Boys Basketball games scheduled for tonight vs Pocahontas have been canceled and will be rescheduled for Friday, February 11, 2022 at home with a game time of 6pm. Senior Night for Girls/Boys Basketball will also be held during this game.
There will be no school for students on Friday, February, 11, 2022 for Teacher Professional Development makeup.

Senior Night for Archery & Bowling has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 8, 2022 during the Sr Girls/Boys Basketball games vs Valley View.
WHS Boys Basketball games for tonight , Wednesday, February 2, 2022, against Southside have been cancelled. Wednesday, February 9, 2022 will be the makeup date with a Sr High game only and played at home. The time is still to be determined. Brown's Graduation will be on campus to deliver class rings on Thursday during lunch. Students who ordered class rings will go to the library during their lunch period to pick their ring up. If you have not paid in full for your ring, be prepared to do so on Thursday.

Estos nuevamente se llevarán a cabo principalmente virtualmente a través de llamadas telefónicas o enlaces en vivo con los maestros. Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, February 10th from 3:30-8:30 pm. These will again be held primarily virtually through phone calls or live links with the teachers. If you have a need to meet face to face, please schedule those visits directly with your student's teachers. Teachers will begin reaching out through the parent email provided in eSchool this week with Google Forms that can be used to schedule times for the conferences.
Sr Night for girls & boys basketball is currently scheduled for Friday, February 11, 2022 vs Hillcrest. If Hillcrest has school closure due to the possibility of inclement weather this week, they will cancel our scheduled game on February 11th. In the event this happens, Sr Night for basketball will be rescheduled for February 8, 2022 vs Valley View. We will keep you posted on any changes as soon as possible.
