Westside Consolidated School District will begin selling Lenovo Chromebook Laptops on Thursday, October 27, 2022 for $25. The Chromebooks have been factory reset for public use. Congratulations on a quarter-final win in the State Tournament by our Lady Warrior Volleyball Team today! They will be playing in the semi-final round tomorrow at 1:00 pm. The same check out procedure for students that will be attending the game will remain in place. The only difference will be the release time is being moved back to 11:20 am due to the later starting time. Any student who checks-out must be checked-out by someone on their check-out sheet. This must be done in person. Phone calls, emails, and notes will not be accepted. Students must also sign in at the game with one of our administrators in order to be given the excused absence. Also remember that all tickets must be purchased online. No physical tickets will be sold at the door. Once again, BIG WIN ladies!!!

The WHS Volleyball team will be playing in the state tournament at Brookland on Tuesday, October 25 at noon. Students who wish to attend this game will be allowed to be checked by someone on their checkout list to attend the game with an EXCUSED absence from school. There will be no notes accepted. Any student who leaves must have the approved check out person do this IN PERSON at the high school office. Check out will not be allowed until 10:45 Tuesday morning. Students who go to the game must sign-in on a sign-in sheet once they arrive at the game. If the student does not sign out at school correctly or does not sign-in once they arrive at the game, the absence will be unexcused. If we continue to win, this is the procedure that will be used each game.

Westside High School Theater Presents: Steel Magnolias, by Robert Harling The action takes place in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Helped by her assistant, Annelle, (who is not sure if she is still married), the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s curmudgeon, Ouiser; an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby, is about to marry a “good ole boy.” The show, based on a true story, is filled with lots of laughs, but when Shelby ( who is a diabetic) risks pregnancy and forfeits her life, the ladies realize how their own mortality affects the others. Strength, love, and friendship give the play and its characters the special quality to make this show truly touching and funny in good times and in bad.

The yearly flu shot clinic for Westside Schools is scheduled for WMS & WHS on Wednesday, November 2nd and WES on Thursday, November 3rd. Parent consent forms are being sent home this week and will need to be returned by Friday, October 28th.

There will be an Athletic Booster Club meeting on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 6pm in the high school cafeteria.

Senior Night for Band, Golf and Tennis will be Friday, October 21, 2022 at Warrior Field. The recognition will be prior to the football game at 6:20 p.m. and all students participating will have information on arrival time.

Reminder that Sr. composite pictures will be taken this week. Monday last names A-M and Tuesday last names N-Z. Remember $25 fee and no t-shirts. Mr. Smith will be set up in the library 8:00-10:30 am each day. Srs who have reduced schedules or work obligations can come to either day.
