Dear Westside High School Parents,
We are reaching out to inform you of a significant change in our school policy regarding student cell phone use during school hours. Starting immediately, students will **NOT be allowed to have cell phones in the classroom** under any circumstances. This change is intended to create a more focused and productive learning environment for all students and is part of a greater initiative at the state level. Students will receive more information on this when we return to school tomorrow.
**Student Use of Cell Phone Policy (WHS):**
- Students may use their cell phones before school begins, between classes, and during their lunch period.
- Cell phones will not be used in the classrooms. They must be turned off or put on silent and are to be put away as the student enters the classroom.
- Confiscated cell phones will require parent pick up an other possible disciplinary actions.
For more detailed information, please refer to the Westside Student Handbook on pages 99-100 and 219-220, available at the following link: https://core-docs.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/1683/WCSD/4617800/24-25_Student_Handbook.pdf
We appreciate your support as we work together to enhance our students' educational experience.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Chris George
Principal, Westside High School
