Westside Middle School will have only one lunch time today and tomorrow (Wednesday and Thursday). It will be from 11:00-11:30. Recess will be from 11:30-12:00 on the playground or in the gym depending on the weather.
The last day of school for students is Thursday, May 21st! Students will dismiss early at 12:10 PM.
We hope all of our Warriors have a safe, fun, and relaxing summer break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for the first day of school on August 13th!

Volleyball tryouts are THIS WEEK in the HS Multi-Purpose Gym! 7th Grade (current 6th graders): May 19-20 | 3:30-5:00 PM
Students not currently participating in volleyball must bring a current physical to try out.
Reminder: Any medication your child may have in the school nurse’s office must be picked up by Wednesday, May 20 by 3:30 PM. Any medication not picked up by that time will be discarded. No medications will remain at school over summer break. Please contact your child’s campus nurse with any questions.

Brooke Ray, Miss Greater Jonesboro, visited with our 6th grade students today.
Westside Middle School was excited to welcome incoming 5th graders. Students got to listen to the band perform, learn about some of the rules and procedures of the school, went on a tour guided by student council, and got practice with the locks.
Westside Middle School held its second semester art show and project night. Families were able to view art projects completed during the second semester. Families could also participate in a book swap, a parent vs. student quiz bowl competition, and EAST students showcased their projects and work at their EAST Night Out!

At the May 11, 2026 Board meeting, the Board approved adjusting the last day of school, Thursday, May 21, 2026, to a half day for students.
Earlier this semester, our district was closed from January 26 through February 2 due to ice-covered roads. As part of our make-up plan, February 5, which was originally scheduled as a half day for students followed by PLC work for teachers, was changed to a regular instructional day. Because of that adjustment, we are able to dismiss early on the last day of school while still meeting the required instructional hours under our alternate calendar.
School will dismiss at 12:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 21. With this adjustment, the district will still have 1,068.5 instructional hours for the 2025-2026 school year.
We hope you enjoy your summer, and we cannot wait to see everyone back when school starts again on August 13.
