IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:  If you are the parent of a homeschooled child who meets the following criteria, this is for you. The Westside Consolidated School District, Office of Special Education, will hold a meeting with parents of students:  who live in the school district,  have a child who has/had an IEP in a public school setting,  and are currently homeschooling.  Your child may be eligible to receive equitable services through a service plan. Please join Dr. Kammerer on Friday, April 25, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. via Zoom. NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

The Westside Consolidated School District, in compliance with the U.S. Department of Education General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR) 34CFR. 76.734 will destroy the special education records of students who exited the Special Education program in 2020 and earlier on May 28, 2026. Students served in special education programs, or parents and guardians of those students, can review and request the records before they are destroyed.

The records are maintained for six years after a student has graduated, dropped or moved from the district. State and federal guidelines state these records should be destroyed six years after a student no longer receives these services or if the records are no longer needed to provide services.

Special education records are available for pickup at the Westside High School, special education department, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm.
